What affects the price

Every home is different, so pros quote after they see the project. These are the main things that change the price.

  • The type of door, like entry, patio or storm
  • The door material and how much glass it has
  • Custom sizes or changing the size of the opening
  • Side panels, transoms and decorative glass
  • Locks, handles and smart lock hardware
  • Repairing a rotted frame or threshold

Common questions

How long does it take to install a new front door?

Swapping a door that fits the existing opening often takes a few hours to a day. Changing the size of the opening or adding side panels can take longer.

Should I choose a fiberglass, steel or wood door?

Steel is strong and often costs less, but it can dent. Fiberglass resists dents and weather and can look like wood. Wood looks classic but needs more upkeep. An installer can help you weigh them for your climate.

Does it cost anything?

No. Matched Pros is free for homeowners. Contractors pay us when we match them with a project, and you never have to hire anyone.
