Our guides help homeowners understand what a project involves and what it costs. Here is how we make them.

Every number has a source

Cost figures come from public data (government statistics, industry reports, manufacturers and established cost publishers) and, as it grows, our own data from real quote requests. Each figure is linked to its sources at the bottom of the page. When sources disagree, we show the range and explain why.

How we check each guide

We use software, including AI tools, to help gather and organize research. A second check confirms every figure against its source, and a person at Matched Pros reads and approves each guide before it goes live. Each guide shows when it was last updated.

We keep guides current

We recheck every guide at least twice a year, and sooner when prices or rules change.

Independence

Contractors and partners pay Matched Pros for matches, but they cannot pay to change our guides. Spot a mistake? Email [email protected].
